Hundreds participate in Southeast community centers’ Halloween festivities

Ghouls, ghosts, superheroes, villains — even a toddling pediatrician and his tiny physician’s assistant — swarmed the halls of the Hillside Community Center on Saturday, while a grinning procession of princesses, dinosaurs, witches, wizards and a stilt-walker cruised the parking lot at Turman Elementary School.

There were plenty of treats, and maybe a few tricks, at the Hillside Halloween House Party and Deerfield Hills Community Center‘s annual Trunk or Treat on the sun-soaked weekend day. The Southeast Express team set up shop at Hillside, distributing candy and newspaper origami hats to enthusiastic trick-or-treaters, and to some equally excited adult revelers.

These images offer just a sweet taste of the event, which spanned several classrooms and the gymnasium and included information, education, carnival games, food and one memorable live snake.
