The intersection of Chelton Road and Delta Drive was closed to traffic Monday morning as the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office investigated an officer-involved shooting involving the Colorado Springs Police Department.

CSPD officers shot two suspects following a pursuit following an armed robbery at a Westside 7-Eleven, during which suspects fired at CSPD vehicles.
According to the CSPD Twitter account, CSPD officers pursued a silver Toyota 4-Runner that was allegedly involved in an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in the 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue at 12:20 a.m. According to CSPD, “during the pursuit, suspects shot at officers multiple times.”

According to CSPD, "Multiple suspects [were] seen leaving the area in a silver Toyota 4-Runner," following an armed robbery at a Westside 7-Eleven.
Officers performed a “tactical vehicle intervention” on the Toyota at the Chelton Road and Delta Drive intersection, and “at least two CSPD Officers each fired at least one shot each at the suspects.” CSPD reports that four suspects have been taken into custody, and two suspects are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The department placed the officers involved in the incident on administrative leave.
No CSPD officers were injured, and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident. The department placed the officers involved in the shooting on administrative leave, and the police say there is no threat to the public at this time. CSPD asks that drivers avoid the area while detectives conduct the investigation.
