A red Jeep drove into the entrance of a Loaf 'N Jug near the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and Drennan Road on Aug. 31.

A red jeep drove into the front of the Loaf ‘N Jug at Drennan Road and South Academy Boulevard on the morning of Aug. 31, the third such incident involving the same vehicle in the last four days.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department blotter: “Upon arrival, officers observed the front door of the business had been forced open. The suspects left the scene prior to officers arriving. This is an ongoing investigation.”

Lt. James Sokolik, the public information officer for CSPD, confirmed that the same red Jeep was also involved in similar incidents on Aug. 28. 

“On Saturday Aug. 28 at approximately 4 a.m. a red Jeep ran into the Loaf ‘N Jug store at 4770 Drennan Rd. and attempted to remove the ATM, but was unsuccessful in doing so," he said. "No items were taken during that burglary.”

The Loaf ‘N Jug at 4770 Drennan Rd. is 1 mile from the Loaf ‘N Jug that was hit Tuesday morning. The other incident took place at a Loaf ‘N Jug at Alegre Circle in Fountain on Aug. 28. CSPD does not have any suspect information at this time.


On Aug. 28, a red Jeep drove into two Loaf 'N Jug stores. One at 4770 Drennan Rd. and one at Alegre Circle in Fountain.

"We are cooperating with local authorities as they continue to investigate the incidents at our Loaf ‘N Jug locations on Drennan Road," read an emailed statement from Loaf 'N Jug. "We respectfully direct further questions to the Colorado Springs police.”
