Join the celebration Saturday, August 20th.

In a historic moment for Southeast catalyzed by the RISE Coaltion and the Suthers Administration, the largest park renovation in city history will be celebrated Saturday Aug. 20 at Panorama Park, 4540 Fenton Road. The $8.5 million, year-long renovation includes state of the art accessible playgrounds, public art and renovated sports fields. The park covers 13.5 acres at the intersection of Chelton Road and Jet Wing Drive.

The reopening celebration kicks off at 10 am with dedications, poetry by Pikes Peak Poet Laureate Ashley Correlius, and music performed by the Panorama Middle School choir.

Until 3 p.m., there will be live music, skateboard demonstrations, drop-in sports clinics, cycling demonstrations and more.

Attendees should bring chairs and blankets and, if possible, ]use alternative transportation. There will be parking available at Peak Vista Community Health Center, 1815 Jet Wing Drive and Panorama Middle School, 2145 S. Chelton Rd.

Funding for the renovation includes $1 million from the TOPS fund; $4 million from the Parkland Dedication Ordinance Funds; $500,000 from the TABOR retention funds; and $1 million for the accessible playground from Trust for Public Land. A total of $3 million of the renovation costs came from private sources.
