Two men were shot at approximately 3:46 p.m. Sept. 9 at 3680 North Citadel Drive, home to The Union Cuisine restaurant and Elks Lodge 473. Both men were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to a Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) news release, “Based on the preliminary evidence and the nature of this incident, detectives from the CSPD’s Violent Crime Section responded to assume responsibility for the investigation. While this remains an active investigation, the preliminary information indicates this incident involves people associated with the business who are known to each other. Detectives are actively working to develop information about the incident and identify those involved.”
Lt. James Sokolik, CSPD public information officer, confirmed the two individuals were "associated" with The Union Cuisine, not the Elks Lodge, and they were shot by a third party who is a suspect.
No arrests have been made and CSPD is investigating the incident as an attempted homicide. This is a developing story.
