Sierra , neighborhood celebrate season opener on home turf
For the first time in its 35-year history, Sierra High School is hosting varsity football games on home turf. The season opened Friday, Aug. 30, and despite a tough, 46-8 loss to The Classical Academy, a standing-room-only crowd Stallion supporters kept their spirits high.
The Stallions next take to the gridiron at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Sierra’s home stadium, 2250 Jet Wing Drive. The boys will defend their turf against Liberty High School.
Southeast Express Editor Regan Foster was on hand to capture some of the many fun moments during the season opener. For a real-time calendar of Southeast varsity prep sports events, see Something to Cheer About.
